SPAK demands 25 years in prison for the 'strong' of 'Myslym

SPAK has requested a 25-year prison sentence for "the strongman of Myslym Shyr", Gjergj Cukali.

Gjergj Cukali is accused of ordering the mine assassination of Altin Xhuxha alias Gjon Mena on February 9, 2021 in Kamëz, but which failed.

The tritol attack was aimed at the execution of Altin Djuxha, who was left crippled by the explosion.

Two weeks after the event, on February 29, the police arrested Gjergj Cukali and the two cousins ​​hired by him to assemble the mine.

On November 24, 2006, the Court of Serious Crimes convicted Gjergji Cukali on the charge of illegal deprivation of liberty against citizen FD, an event that occurred in 2004.

Arrest in 2016

Meanwhile, in July 2016, he was arrested as part of the coded operation "Tangent", where Cukali was the leader of a cocaine distribution network.

At that time, 7 people were criminally prosecuted, while 9 others were arrested. The arrested were citizens from several cities of Albania, but also from Kosovo. Among them there were also those convicted earlier for serious criminal offences.

In cooperation with each other, the members of the group allegedly distributed cocaine narcotics in different areas of Tirana such as "Myslym Shyri", ex-Blloku, "Willson" square, on "Ali Demi" street, in the Porcelani area and on the street of Elbasan.

Through procedural actions and using special methods, the Tirana Police documented the criminal activity of this group. The investigations proved that the arrested citizens procured the narcotics through Gjergji Cukali and then distributed them, according to orders received from customers.

The trafficker's other identity is revealed

Gjergji Cukali, known as the "strongman of Myslym Shyr", had another identity, which was revealed to him immediately after his arrest in 2016. At that time, Top Chanel provided forged documents with the identity of Ergi Hoxha. The biometric passport, identity card and license with the same name were seized by the police, who also charged Cukali with forging documents.

The disease that sent him home from prison

After a year in prison, Gjergji Cukali manages to get out again. A decision of the Criminal College of the Supreme Court, dated May 24, 2017, granted freedom to Gjergji Cukali by imposing a "house arrest" security measure. The Criminal Panel of the Supreme Court argues that it was decided that Gjergji Cukali should remain under "house arrest" due to his health condition. It turns out that the "strong Myslym Shyr" suffered from bronchial asthma and had frequent seizures.

"For this reason," says the Supreme Court, "Gjergji Cukali cannot be treated at the Institute of Special Health Care for prisoners in Tirana." Staying in prison puts his life in danger."
