The scheme of abuse of 2 directors and their subordinates in the Municipality of Korça, who caused a damage of 30 million ALL, is uncovered.
Zhaneta Lubonja, acting Director of the Directorate of Planning and Control of Territorial Development, Soniel Prifti, acting Director of the Directorate of Local Taxes and Tariffs, Ermal Gjermeni, Head of the Sector in this directorate and Olvas Petro, acting as a specialist, were suspended from office on April 10, 2024.
Sources from the investigation group inform that the prosecution has found violations in the construction permit procedure for nearly 20 entities.
According to the same sources, the defendants, for profit purposes, have given construction permits for buildings declared for residence, while they have been used for trade.
The infrastructure impact tax for residential facilities is 3% of the investment value, while for service and trade facilities this tax is 8% of the investment value.
The officials suspended in the municipality of Korça have been given a security measure and are required to appear before the judicial police by the Prosecutor's Office of Korça and are being investigated for 'Abuse of duty' in cooperation, while another is suspected of 'Criminal failure'.
