Lawyer Spartak Ngjela spoke about the actions that the Special Prosecutor's Office has taken recently.
One of the recent operations was the arrest of businessman Pëllumb Gjoka from Shkodër and the discovery of the connections that criminal groups had with state officials, leading to the arrest of two police officers and the head of the Kukes prosecutor's office.
According to Ngjela, SPAK does not have an easy job as justice in Albania has been missing since 1992 when former Prime Minister Sali Berisha came to power.
"Albania has not had justice since 1992. In the beginning, the state was corrupted, which sought the help of the court. The corrupt high administration also corrupted the court because it needed to. It is the duty of history to reveal", says Spartak Ngjela in an analysis for Report TV.
The lawyer emphasizes that now there is a change since SPAK came out, but the state crime is very big and that SP and DP are involved in it. He further adds that SPAK is a small institution and needs to be helped.
"Majority? It is difficult, both parties are involved in corruption. A bank and an uncontrolled state are stolen. This is an axiom. SPAK has started to move well. I notice that it has started to hit organized crime. You can't attack corruption if you don't attack organized crime. Corruption cannot survive without organized crime. SPAK has no small job. It needs more prosecutors and investigators", continues the lawyer.
Njjela is also convinced that SPAK, with the support of the USA, is well on its way to fighting crime and corruption. He points out that the files must be translated into English as they are required by the US. According to Ngela, SPAK could not start with right strikes because it does not leave the doctrine.
"With the signs we are seeing, the normal movement has started and will continue. There are many files. And according to my data they should all be translated into English. International experts do not walk with files like ours. All the files are being translated into English for them to understand the crime and its hit. Let's see from September how the events will precipitate. SPAK has started to move, but the difficulties are in the size of the institution and in the translation.
