Journalist Ola Xama and economic expert Pano Sako, invited to the studio of the show "Në Shënjestre", discussed the sterilization concession.
Xama said that the sterilization file is divided into two parts, the economic one and the incrimination of high officials in this case.
While Sako spoke about the first concerns and doubts about the sterilization concession and about the denunciation made by Nisma Thurje to SPAK. He argued that suspicions were made clearer by carefully reducing the number of operations in order to keep the fee high but also not to exceed the limit.
Excerpts from the studio discussion:
Ola Xama: I would divide the file into two parts, the economic part and the evidence, the facts that SPAK has discovered for high incrimination. What is the conflict that SPAK raised? Sterilization is the boiling of surgical instruments at high temperature, which reduces the risk of infection. According to SPAK and the audit, it was provided by the hospital centers themselves.
It was decided that the sterilization would be done by concession. Rrjepaj and Beqaj held meetings in Italy, where SPAK revealed that the participants were the future owners. The company has stated that there was no recognition and conflict of interest, but the investigation has shown the opposite.
Pano Sako:The concern started in 2018. What is this thing that prevents operations from being carried out? Here we picked up the spunton and saw some dark spots. The first was that the sterilization center was given to the concessionaire for free. First, we have doctors who get in the way of performing operations, and this is not normal. Hospitals did not have enough money to do this. There were suspicions, but we had no evidence and facts, so we filed a complaint with SPAK. We were impressed by the fact that the company was registered in Kosovo. There we realized that these schemes have the same panorama, also made fun of by the scandal of the incinerators. They took care to reduce the number of operations in order to keep the fee high but also not to cross the limit. This was the schematic broken down. The falsification of the number of operations was done in order not to exceed the spending limit.
Ola Xama: There is also a subjective opinion. What would I have done? If I had familiarity with a large company that would solve the problem, familiarity would not be a problem if it provided great service. I do not believe that there is no stupid person who makes a prison for his friend or enriches his friend and not himself. We do not have a property investigation. I saw the balance sheets of Sunny Service, where in 4 years it came out with a profit and 4 years with a loss. The prosecution has received the balances, contracts and it turns out that 70-80% of the services are subcontracted. So it is not able to perform sterilization. This company has not been able to provide the services.
