Journalist Alba Kepi has revealed details from an interview she conducted with journalist Nello Torchhia, author of the book "The Invincible", which also talks about a meeting between Albanian mafia bosses and Rama government officials in 2019.
According to Kepi, the book contains Italian anti-mafia documents about Artur Shehu, a citizen from Vlora who had invested in Italy and then left for the US, where he has been a resident for years.
She emphasized that the Aruba meeting started precisely for a tower where a building, a complex in southern Albania, would be discussed, regarding how it would be invested.
"Even in the interview I stop at this meeting, they are classified documents, it is important to qualify. They are anti-mafia documents, which the journalist and writer has included in his book. It is an investigation launched by the Tuscany anti-mafia directorate, which in 2019 put under investigation the property that Artur Shehu has in Florence. During the investigation, the file also contains this information regarding the meeting in Aruba. In these documents that are not written by Nello Torchia, but are on the classified pages of the anti-mafia, it is said that Artur Shehu, a mafia boss, met in the presence of several prominent elements of organized crime, in the presence of several officials.
The journalist calls the book "The Invincibles" because bosses like Artur Shehu have the ability to escape capture.
Shehu also had businesses in Italy and then left for the US and obtained citizenship. Why has he not been investigated? Due to the expiration of the time limit, this anti-mafia dossier has been closed. But the journalist says that some points of this dossier have begun to be investigated.
There is no video and no photos of the meeting, but there are wiretaps, related to telephones or environmental, I don't know. Antimafia has wiretapped with other European prosecutors.
The Italian journalist told me that he started investigating the Aruba meeting as an investigative journalist after a trip to Vlora, where he also heard from fellow Albanian journalists. He went and saw wealth there and that's where his suspicions arose to contact the prosecutor in the case. I think that more than the clock, we should be concerned about the fact that Artur Shehu continues to have his businesses.
