The increasing curve of respiratory infections requires more care from citizens to prevent infection or manage it properly and avoid complications that viruses can cause.
The head of the National Emergency, Dr. Skënder Brataj, is optimistic that within January, the descent of the curve will begin, referring to Europe.
"Increase in the number of patients in hospitals, as in all other countries. Europe is on the way to decrease, in Albania the growth continues. Within January, Albania will also see a decrease in the number of infected people" , said Skënder Brataj.
High temperature of 39-40 and longer duration of symptoms has caused doctors to consider the flu virus this year as slightly more aggressive. But Brataj links this to the overlap of the two viruses.
"It could be the association of two viruses. If they are flu and Covid and when there are two viruses, they are more aggressive", said the doctor.
While young children and the elderly are the most affected, Brataj has a piece of advice for mothers not to worry when they have a fever.
"Be careful with the temperature for convulsions, but the fact that the child has a temperature means that his organism is reacting ", said the head of the Emergency.
