The former mayor of Bulqiza, Lefter Alla, has asked the Posacme court to declare him innocent, denying the accusations that he abused the water supply tender of the municipality worth 3 million euros by giving it to a relative of his.
In today's session, Alla and the defense lawyers presented the defense conclusions. During his statement at the GJKKO session, Alla said that in order to exercise his duties as mayor, he gave up his business activities. While he also accused the prosecutor of the case of not interrogating him.
" I am innocent, I was elected with 67% of the votes by the people of Bulqiza. I served them with honesty and dedication. I gave up business. I had no other experiences in administration. I left my business to serve the people. I received from the part of my family to make it available to the people. " - Alla is said to have said.
At the end of his speech, he addressed the court, saying "Look carefully at this matter".
In the same line with Alla's statement was the former vice-president Enkeleda Lleshi who said that she had no other duty than to give orders as delegated by Alla.
"I have not had more duties than to issue orders as a delegate of the president. I had no idea who the company was that was carrying out the works" - said Lleshi.
As for the prosecution's interception of the involved businessman, she said that she had spoken because of her other duties as vice president.
