Just a few days after the shock it created in world markets, including even the American stock market, United States President Donald Trump suspends trade tariffs for more than 75 countries around the world, including many countries in Europe and Asia, for a period of 90 days.
During this period, President Trump explains that these countries will have a tariff of only 10% on most products, which does not affect Albania and Kosovo, for which the tariff imposed from the beginning by the American President was 10%.
In the decision signed this Wednesday, the head of the White House excludes only China from the suspension, for which he announces a further increase in the tariff, to the value of 125%.
In a post on the social platform Truth Social, Trump explained that the pause for the 75 countries was an opportunity to discuss and reach an agreement, emphasizing that they had requested a dialogue with US agencies, including the Department of Commerce and the Trade Representative.
"These countries have shown a willingness to engage in dialogue and reach agreements that improve trading conditions and remove barriers that have impacted free trade. So I have authorized a 90-day pause and a significantly reduced tariff during this period, of 10%, effective immediately," the US President explained.
