Another worrying case regarding food safety has been identified in Tirana, where inspectors from the National Food Authority (AKU) have intervened in a commercial entity, seizing a significant amount of chicken meat.
During the inspection of the KMY business premises, 738 kilograms of chicken fillets and breasts were seized, after serious violations of hygiene and sanitation standards were identified.
According to the verifications, the meat was treated in inappropriate conditions, being placed on the ground during the freezing and thawing processes. The product was also stored in an environment where mold and rust were found, elements that pose a direct risk to the health of consumers.
Authorities emphasize that, in the absence of timely intervention, this quantity could have ended up on the market and been consumed as a safe product.
At the end of the inspection, the Tirana AKU decided to suspend the activity of the entity until all legal conditions are met. In the meantime, the quantity of 738 kilograms of seized chicken meat will be subjected to the destruction process.
