Journalist Namir Lapardhja was escorted to his final resting place today after tributes were held at the "Margarita Tutulani" Palace of Culture in Berat. He passed away a week ago in Germany as a result of a heart attack.
The funeral ceremony was attended by political leaders, local representatives, colleagues and numerous citizens. Those present considered his passing a loss for public life in Berat and beyond.
After the tributes, the funeral procession headed to the Burdullias cemetery, where the burial ceremony took place around 1:00 p.m.
The event was also attended by well-known figures from politics and art, including Preç Zogaj, Roland Bejko, Yzedin Hima and MP Erion Braçe, who expressed their appreciation for his figure.

"Namir is the same age as my son, we were connected by books, we were raised by reading. I initially met him at book fairs and he was very interested and we were impressed that he wanted to read. From there we created a strong connection, but we also had other points of contact, such as political and civic engagements. But literature has always connected us with Namir, he had a special ability, especially in reviews that no one did better than him. Recently we have been together even longer, Namir has also appeared to me in human nature, with modesty and determination, a moderate intellectual, courageous and did not make trivial compromises. His separation from life is a great loss for the family, of course, but also for the intellectual world in general, because we do not have many intellectuals with qualities like Namir. It is also a great loss for Berat, I was shocked when I heard the news, because three days before I had spoken to him about some advice on what to visit, he was like a guide. The boy also knew that they had been together "even in the DP ," said Preç Zogaj.
"20 years ago, I met Namir right here where we are, in this place where we are also following up. He was a fragile boy, but as fragile as he looked, he was so strong inside. With his growth, not only physically but also professionally, he made us listen to this boy and not just advise him. He became an important figure not only in journalism, but also in the active life of Berat and the first phone call and contact I made when I came to Berat was Namir. He left a big void, both in journalism and in the family. He took his place in the Albanian environment, today that place is empty since he left. Let's hope and believe that God will have him near him. I often told Namir Bey, he came like a bey and left like a bey ," said Roland Bejko.
"I did not know Namir simply as the head of the Education Directorate when I was there, but as a colleague, a teacher, and undoubtedly also as a colleague in the media and in literary activity. Even though he was not my age, he was a wonderful conversationalist, he appeared as if he were a peer, with intellect, you could talk and advise him. His character was formed through books and his family, because he came from a persecuted family, but he turned that pain into tolerance. His departure is a great departure and loss not only for the family, but for Berat, intellectuals and all of Albania. Namir was a moral compass not only for this generation, but also for all generations to come", said Yzedin Hima.
Namir Lapardhja was born in Berat in 1986 and completed his secondary education at the city's Madrasa. He then completed his higher studies at the University of Tirana and a second-level master's degree in "Literary Studies".
He worked as a teacher and was simultaneously engaged in the written and visual media, where he addressed political and social developments through his analyses.
Lapardhja was the author of the books “Beyond Silence,” “In Search of Meaning,” and “Reflections.” He came from a persecuted family and had lived in Germany for several years, remaining active in public debate. In his personal life, he was the father of two daughters.
