Today the Assembly of Albania, with 75 votes of the left majority, decided to accept the request of SPAK prosecutors for the removal of Berisha's immunity, paving the way for his arrest, related to the accusations of his role as former prime minister in the privatization of the former - "Partizani" complex.
Analyst Neritan Sejamini said that this was expected and that there are many flaws in the decision of the SPAK prosecution, which do not leave the taste of a legitimate movement of justice.
Sejamini said that this action will have political consequences by destabilizing the PD even more and will give more revenge to the Prime Minister.
" I do not believe that the Assembly of Albania would decide otherwise. There is a determination that this case will be taken to the end, not only with the removal of immunity, but also with what decision the court will make, perhaps with a house arrest. From a personal point of view, it seems to me a tragic and dramatic event for the career of a man who has been an important figure of the Albanian transition, with its good and bad, positive and negative contributions. I would like some sense and some understanding so that things do not come to this point for the leaders of a country. Albania has tragic events regarding its leaders and it is not only a matter of these leaders, but also of our society, the way we glorify and desecrate heroes and false idols.
From the point of view of justice, it would be good if this was perceived as a decision of impartial and true justice. Unfortunately, even for the facts that we have discussed, for many lapses in the decision of the prosecution and SPAK, it does not leave me the taste of a legitimate movement of justice. But from the political point of view, it is an action that will have political consequences in the short term, it will destabilize the DP even more, it will limit, it will give more revenge to the prime minister, so it is an event that is for them had political consequences ", Sejamini said, among other things, on "MCN TV".
