News edition

We invite you to follow a news block with the main developments from the black chronicle, where among other things we highlight:

The joint mega-operation between SPAK and the Italian Antimafia hit the criminal group led by Igli Kamberi, with 15 arrest warrants in Albania, Italy and Spain.

The investigations are related to drug trafficking, money laundering and the mafia murder of Italian Francesco Divisti.

Authorities seized companies, vehicles, bank accounts and hundreds of thousands of euros in cash.

In Elbasan, director Petri Bozo was arrested after hitting and killing a 7-year-old child.

In his testimony, Bozo said he was driving at low speed because of the "lying policeman" and that he attempted to swerve as soon as he realized the collision.

Investigations are verifying suspicions that the vehicle may have been over the speed limit.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Court held the first hearing against the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, and 18 other people.

The hearing was postponed to June 10 due to the absence of several lawyers, while the court decided to suspend Veliaj's pre-trial detention.

The Tirana Prosecutor's Office requested clarification from the AKU regarding the unblocking of the activity of the Sori-Al company, which supplied food to students of the Security Academy.

Investigations began after dozens of students were poisoned, while laboratory tests revealed bacteria above the permitted limits in a food sample.

New details emerged from the operation against illegal construction in Saranda.

Three police officers were arrested for abuse of power, while the owners of the "Copacabana" beach bar and the chief inspector of the IMT are wanted. Investigations suspect corruption and links to criminal groups.

Kevin Margjoni, considered by SPAK to be part of the cocaine laboratory in Frakull, Fier, was arrested in Spain.

He was declared an international wanted person after the "prison arrest" measure ordered by the Criminal Court.

Meanwhile, the director of the State Police, Skender Hita, held meetings in Kukës and Dibër, where he called for stronger measures against crime, drugs and arson, as well as increased security in schools, on the roads and during the tourist season.
