DP's request for suspension of investigation into Irena Gjoka is rejected
The court has rejected the request to exclude Judge Marinela Osmani from the review of the case related to the request to discontinue criminal proceedings against Judge Irena Gjoka, who was charged with forgery of documents.
The decision was made by Judge Rudina Palloj, who assessed that there are no legal grounds that justify Osmani's removal from the review of the file.
The request was filed by complainants Adriana Kalaja and Jamarbër Malltezi. The two complainants also requested that the review of SPAK's request to discontinue the investigation not be conducted at the GJKKO, arguing that this court is in a conflict of interest.
The investigation against Judge Gjoka was launched in June 2025 for the criminal offense of forgery of seals, stamps or forms, following denunciations made by the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.
Endri Meksi appears before SPAK/ The owner of MCN has publicly denounced that he has received threats
Businessman Endri Meksi, also the owner of MCN TV, appeared before SPAK on Monday morning. According to reports, Meksi was summoned to the Special Prosecution Office in the capacity of a person who may have knowledge regarding a matter being investigated by SPAK. It is not known whether Meksi's appearance is related to the investigations that SPAK is conducting regarding what is known as the AKSHI file.
In recent weeks, Meksi has publicly denounced that he has received threats, while adding that his life is in danger.
He even stated that he has filed a police report regarding the case in question.
Reports indicate that a threat was made against him at the MCN TV premises, while an explosive device was placed at one of his internet business points.

Internal sources from the Democratic Party structures in Lezha confirm to Pamfleti that the Democratic Party MP, Gjin Gjoni, in several open meetings and close groups with local activists and leaders, has repeatedly warned that he will 'cut off the ears of Sokol Toma', the former chairman of the DP for the administrative unit of Dajçi.
Sokol Toma has been known over the years as one of the most successful electoral organizers in the area, but after Gjin Gjoni's arrival at the head of the Democratic Party branch for Lezha, he withdrew from active political life and became critical of his leadership style.
Precisely for this criticism, Gjin Gjoni is suspected of having repeatedly threatened him with physical violence, openly telling him in some of the meetings: "I will cut off his ears to teach him a lesson."
On the evening of May 9, 2026, at around 10:00 PM, on the Mamurras–Laç road, near the village of Sandxhak in Kurbin,
Sokol Toma was brutally attacked by a masked gang. The unidentified individuals blocked the road to his car, forced him out and beat him with hard objects. But the violence did not stop there: the aggressors broke both of his lower limbs and then actually cut off part of his ear, fulfilling the threat of MP Gjin Gjoni word for word.

Prime Minister Edi Rama continues negotiations to fill the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania, a process that was supposed to be completed by December 2025.
The clash of political interests for control of the Bank's management blocked and postponed the process of selecting members until February 2026.
On December 15, the mandate of 6 members of the Supervisory Council ended. Three of them are proposed by the Prime Minister, while three by the Speaker of the Assembly.
So far, 5 members have been selected and appointed, while 1 position remains vacant, although 5 months have passed since the legally mandatory deadline.
The selection of the member for the vacant seat is the competence of the Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi. But the procedure is not progressing and there is still no public information about the applications or the name that will be proposed to the Assembly.
According to information received by "Pamfleti", the real decision on this name is expected to be made by Edi Rama, despite the fact that formally the competence belongs to the Assembly.
