We invite you to follow the Informative Edition with the main developments up to this hour of the day, where among other things we highlight:

Albania was shocked by the killing of police officer Enea Mekolli during an operation in Maliq to capture the much-wanted Violand Braçellari. Mekolli was declared a "Martyr of the Homeland", while another officer was injured.

The Zvërnec issue continues to dominate public debate. The Albanian diaspora is organizing protests in several European countries in support of the cause for the protection of Narta and the Narta Lagoon. Meanwhile, the British media Daily Mail paid attention to the protests, describing Prime Minister Edi Rama as an “autocrat” and reflecting the opposition to the Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump project in Sazan and Zvërnec.

The debate also moved to the Assembly, where the opposition requested Rama's presence in the plenary session and opposed the project, while the Socialists defended the investment and declared that it will be realized.

In other developments, the US Senate is advancing procedures for the confirmation of Eric Wendt as the new US ambassador to Tirana. He has pledged support for the fight against corruption and for SPAK.

SPAK seized a villa in Dhërmi suspected of being linked to former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku. In the same case, former footballer Igli Tare was questioned for about five hours and is under investigation for money laundering.

At the GJKKO, businessman Pëllumb Gjoka spoke for the first time in the process using Sky ECC communications, while SPAK requested over 100 years in prison in total for the defendants in the "Revanshi" case.

Likewise, the GJKKO returned the file against Elvis Roshi to SPAK for completion, requesting clarification on the change of the charge from tender violations to abuse of office.

On the social front, the Constitutional Court upheld the ban on electric skateboards on streets and sidewalks, while INSTAT data shows that Albania is aging at an alarming rate: the median age has reached 45 years, at the average level of the European Union.

In the region, the EU-Western Balkans summit in Tivat was accompanied by security tensions, as Montenegro expelled 87 Serbian citizens, while Serbian services warned of a threat to President Aleksandar Vučić.

Meanwhile in the Middle East, the Iranian leadership accused the US and Israel of destabilizing efforts, while a new ceasefire agreement was reported between Israel and Lebanon, brokered by the United States.
