Mayor Erion Veliaj has requested that the hearing at the Administrative Court be broadcast live, a request that was opposed by the prosecutor's lawyer Ols Dado.
During his argument, lawyer Ndreca emphasized that the publicity of court hearings is a constitutional principle and that, according to him, in this case the judicial process is not violated.
"The right of every citizen to be in a court session, that is, the constitutional principle of publicity of the session, cannot be prohibited except when the integrity of the halls, of a judicial process, is violated, which in this case does not happen. The Constitution determines the freedom of the media and it must have the means at its disposal to exercise its free activity. I can say that it must be registered," said Ndreca.
After the presentation of the arguments, the judicial body withdrew to the deliberation room to make a decision regarding the request.
