Erl Murati has commented on the acceptance of Sali Berisha as a defendant by SPAK. He said that there is no reason for anyone to worry that a former prime minister is going to court.
Murati said that it is the Court that will decide whether he is guilty or innocent, adding that it was not at all normal to hold a protest in front of the SPAK building.
Murati also said that the first protest held in front of the SPAK building is not held to demand accountability against corruption, but to demand accountability for why you brought charges against a former prime minister.
"People are ready to wait for what the Court will say. From the polls, we have not seen the perception that Berisha is being hit politically. I think that Berisha's personal fate should be separated from that of the opposition.
If the Albanians can perceive that Berisha is a political prisoner, this can influence and increase the electoral support for the DP. On the contrary, if the allegation of corruption is proven, then it will have a negative impact on the electorate" , Murati told "News 24".
