Journalist Ferdinand Dervishi, speaking about the video scandal that led Safet Gjicin behind bars, said that it was recorded with the sole purpose of blackmailing the former mayor and obtaining large amounts of money.
In an interview for the "Review" show on "Euornews Albania", he said that Gjici paid the money to get the recording and according to him this is proven by the way the video was published.
He added that the video when it came out was not authentic but filmed from above, which according to the journalist is an excuse to tell Gjic after they took the money that we did not publish, but they stole it from us.
" What is more reliable is that this video was offered to Safeti to disappear. Since this is the common practice in Albania, a video is made and offered to the person to receive money. It is not surprising that Safeti has paid heavily for this part. Why do I think this? Because when the video came out, it looks like it was stolen by someone, by a person at an editing point and someone that I secretly took. This is a staging to tell Safeti after they have received the money, in my opinion, "that this video got out of our control". We assume that Safeti has paid, then how will the people who released this video be justified. This video only comes out if they say they stole it from us. The way the video was made secretly is an excuse that "someone stole it from us and we don't know who took it from us and published it", said Dervish.
