The fire continues in the mined area 'Pyramid 12' on the border with Greece, near the Gërmenje Natural Park in the municipality of Kolonjë.
Local authorities say that since last night there has been no spread of flames, but it remains active and risky, as the wind favors it. Around 40 firefighters are currently working on the ground.
It is also reported that the group that arrived last night from Tirana is heading to the scene to dismantle the mines found in the territory.
"The Municipality Service has started work to open roads, in order to get as close as possible with firefighting vehicles to the affected area. But since it is a border area, there are many mines and explosions are heard from time to time, so it poses a danger to the forces and they cannot get too close to the perimeter of the fire. At the same time, the engineering group that arrived last night from Tirana is going to the scene to dismantle several mines found in the territory ," the announcement says.
