Another victim is suspected to have been registered in the Elbasan region as a result of the fires that have swept the country. After the 80-year-old who lost his life the day before, after starting a fire in the yard of his apartment, causing the flames to spread to the ground and posing a great danger to residents and property in the area, A2 CNN learns that another person is suspected to have died as a result of asphyxiation from the fire.
While many others are reported to have asphyxiated, according to A2 CNN, dozens of homes have been completely destroyed, while the villages that were surrounded by flames the day before; Kullollas, Bletëz, Skënderbegas, Menkollare, Zenelas, Harunas were burned.
As of yesterday evening, 34 fires have been reported across the country, of which 27 are active and 7 are being monitored. The most problematic situation continues to be in the south of the country, with high risk to protected areas, housing and infrastructure.
