Hundreds of residents of Vlora will spend the night between water and mud. Although the rains stopped today, the water level only dropped in the afternoon, as roads and houses are under the power of mud.
The cause of all this is the breakdown of hydrovor. One of the hydraulic pumps has burned down and the workers have stopped the other pumps as well, causing the residents to be between water and dirt all day and night.
The situation becomes even more serious, as the water is polluted, part of it has also become sewage water, there is mud and garbage, which have flooded through the apartments.
The situation is also aggravated by the negligence of the authorities. Although government representatives appear in the media and state that they are on the ground, in fact the residents say the opposite.
According to them, they are at the mercy of fate, as they called the police and the fire brigade and no one came to their aid. Many families have tried with circumstantial means to remove the water, but it has been impossible, because the water heater does not work and there is also no electricity.
The residents themselves say that the cause of this situation is the negligence of the municipality and the authorities, because they have not cleaned the drains.
" I am 80 years old and I have operated on my eye. I told him in the chair that we did not leave the house because we were afraid that the rain would come again. We asked the police and the municipality, but no one came to us. The canal has not been cleaned for two years, I have given them 100 times. Inshalla came here to ask for votes ", says an elderly woman.
" We are in water and mud all night and we can't remove the sludge. If it continued even a little rain, we would die completely. Did you ask for help? Yes, my help. Shero's opinions. Many other residents complain that the water has damaged their food and all their furniture and they have been left without food and with their eyes on the sky, as they do not even have a place to sleep, this as the water is almost 50 cm in some apartments.
" Winter after winter, it becomes sea here. We are forced to fix everything ourselves. The state does not take measures. The damage can be 1 million lek for cleaning, painting minimum. We have been flooded 20 times, 20 million lek have gone to me, no one will know ", declared the owner of a small business.
