Former prosecutor Eugen Beci has revealed details about the serious incident that took place in Peqin prison, where the convict Sokol Mjacaj shot dead Arben Lleshi and injured another convict with a firearm.
He stated that the theory about the introduction of the murder weapon in parts does not hold, since the revolver-type pistol with a grinder cannot be disassembled to facilitate its introduction into the prison.
According to him, someone bought the revolver and gave it to Sokol Mjacaj through a prison guard or policeman.
"To go to the Beijing prison and talk about the lack of scanners, cameras, when every person who enters the prison and any item that enters is thoroughly checked and a revolver pistol with a grinder is inserted, which cannot be disassembled, so parts cannot be inserted part. It is important to maintain order inside the prison. There is a need for the Ministry of Justice to gather information and receive confirmations from other institutions. The prison system seems like it's on an island of its own.
At least someone bought the revolver and gave it to Sokol Mjacaj through a guard or policeman. There was cooperation with an employee in his actions. The murder was committed in collaboration. These cases are alarm bells for the situation in Albanian prisons" , said Beci for "Open".
