Citizens have risen in protest against what happened in Pogradec. Egli Proga was brutally murdered while watching his work, but this time justice sided with the author.
The event happened on August 10, where Denis Meçe raped Eglin to death, after the latter refused to give him the daily round at his bar. But the scandal is not only this. The prosecution changed the charge brought by the police, from "intentional murder" to negligent homicide.
Also, the police, for its part, allegedly tried to hide the incident. It was initially said that Egli died of natural causes, but only after reports in the media it was said that he had been raped to death.
This has irritated the citizens, who today started a protest march from "Skënderbej" square towards the Prime Minister's Office. They are holding a giant banner with the inscription: "Against powerful gangs".
The protesters were holding the photo of Egli Proga, but also different banners such as "Is the truth hidden?", "We demand justice", etc. Egli Proga's sister is also among the protesters.
How Egli Proga was killed and the accusations of manipulation of the event
It was initially said that Egli Proga died of natural causes, but only later did the police report. At 10:10 a.m. on August 11, the Korça local police department would officially react by saying that it had arrested 4 people for this event, 29-year-old Denis Meçe under the charge of the intentional murder of Voltan Shulkun, Arian Manellari and Leonidha Guçe. all three under the charge of not reporting the crime
In the full investigation file, the police information shows that the suspected perpetrator of Egli Progë's murder, 29-year-old Denis Meçe, immediately after the incident left for the village of Buçimas, where on the road, under the influence of alcohol, he stopped the car and slept for several hours . The police could not find him. Only at midnight, around 03:30, Denis Meçe surrendered at the police station in Pogradec. What stands out is that in his statement he does not admit to having punched Egli Proga at any time.

Just a few hours after burying his brother, Jona Proga made serious accusations that the event was attempted to be manipulated.
