The mother of Mark Antony Samson, the 23-year-old who stabbed Ilaria Sula to death, has admitted to helping her son hide the signs of the crime.
During questioning by the investigative team, a session that lasted over three hours, the woman admitted that she had played an active role in the stages following the crime.
Nors Man Lapaz stated that "I helped the boy clean the house, wipe away all the blood." She has been formally charged with complicity in concealing the crime and the corpse.
The investigating judge, regarding the serious crime, emphasizes that Samson "acted coldly and without sensitivity". The young woman was attacked "brutally" by a person she trusted. As the 23-year-old himself admitted, in the hours after his arrest, his mother was at home at the time of the attack, when the boy killed the student with whom he had had a brief romantic relationship.
Since the beginning of the investigation, investigators have had serious doubts about the role of Samson's mother. In addition to the factual data, logic led investigators to believe that Samson did not do everything alone as the boy claimed during interrogation.
The boy explained that he had basically done everything in a little over three hours: he attacked Ilari at around 11:00 a.m. after reading a message from another boy on his cell phone. He stabbed her in the neck with a kitchen knife, causing her death.
At that moment, the plan to cover up the tracks began, and at this point his mother stepped in. It is not known whether the woman helped her son put Ilaria's body in the suitcase, after wrapping it in a sheet.
At the moment, the versions of the son and mother are being examined by prosecutors who are accusing Samson of aggravated intentional murder.
