The Chief of Serious Crimes in Durrës, Elton Shahini, spoke about the murder of 50-year-old Pëllumb Meta and the investigations.
He has shown that the family members were interviewed several times, first about the disappearance of the victim and then about the crime committed.
"After the children reported the loss of their father, they stated that it was not the first time he left, from two to 10 days, they said that he was a consumer and had problems. Then Pëllumbi's car was found, about 2-3 kilometers away from the victim's apartment. After the vehicle was found, this sector was searched, as we thought that the body could be near the car. Then the family members were taken again, while giving their version. We suspected that the person had no conflicts and insisted that it was something internal. We put before the fact that it is something internal. During the interview, Hyseni told us what had happened by declaring Hygerta guilty", Shahini said.
Furthermore, the chief of serious crimes of Durrës said that Hygerta had built a fable to show how he had committed the crime but that it was not reliable.
He told how the family members had divided the roles for the crime from before.
"Initially, Hygerta had a very beautiful fable that they had made between them, she took us to the hut, where she said that she had made it all herself. All this left us suspecting that she couldn't do it. The family members had shared the roles before. The essential thing was that we searched the apartment and found a firearm shell near the sofa. Initially, only the shell was found, then blood samples were taken. My impression is that I was surprised, and their interviews were taken twice. They were quiet, all of them. We thought we have nothing here. After finding the motive and the victims, they have had openness and calmness, not even remorse.
I had not seen any such case. I did not take it for granted that it was the engagement with the goer for the girl. According to their statements, they had constant stress during this time, physical and psychological violence. We have information that this person worked at the market and was a calm person, but he was violent in the family. It has been declared by the family members, it has not been confirmed yet, since there was no denunciation. When we had the daughter and the mother in the office, we asked them why you didn't complain to the police. They did not respond, they were under constant pressure from the victim. The case is under investigation, but to some extent the picture is unclear, the motives we have are clear to some extent.
