Shemsi Prençi, former senior leader of the State Police, has commented on the Lezha assassination attempt where the Mujeci couple was killed.
Speaking to "News 24", he described it as a murder that exceeds even customary rights. The incident is suspected to have been committed for blood feud, but according to Prençi it has no connection to the Kanun.
He also emphasized that Kreshnik Mujeci, together with his wife and children, had participated in the Rrjoll protest.
" I recently saw the victim at the protest of the villagers of Baks Rrjolli, where the late Kreshnik Mujeci was with his wife, he also had his children with him. I knew him as a person but not to have a relationship with him. There is a problem in Albania, which has not been discussed in relation to the contradictions that the legislator in Albania has with the Kanun. The Kanun is a summary of customary norms. I cannot say that blood feud killed him. We do not have an Appeals decision in Kreshnik's favor. The investigative bodies have closed the investigations and have submitted them for judicial investigation, so I have the right to ask the public question, if the specialized law enforcement bodies in Albania have not reached the conclusion that Kreshnik was the person who killed in 2016. How is it possible that Genci's son and the sons of Genci's brothers defined Kreshnik as the murderer and are accusing him of an assassination? ", he said.
