The next hearing in the trial against Dritan Rexhepi and six other defendants, accused of the kidnapping and disappearance of Jan Prenga, took place this Tuesday at the Special Court.
During the hearing, the defense lawyers of Dritan Rexhepi and his co-defendants objected to the communications of the SKY ECC platform, presented by the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) as evidence in the process.
According to the defense, these communications are unusable, as SPAK has not presented them in full, but only isolated parts of the conversations. The lawyers also raised the claim that the Prosecution has brought new communications at a stage when the case is already in trial on the merits.
The defense was familiar with the new acts and evidence presented by the prosecution, but requested that they not be admitted by the court, arguing that their submission at this procedural stage violates the rules of procedure.
After hearing the parties, the panel decided to take time to review the requests and will decide whether or not this evidence will be admitted into the process.
In this case, Dritan Rexhepi is being tried together with Aldo Manjishtën, Gentian Funiqi, Geraldo Martini, Korado Kështënë, Artan Doçaj and Marin Bletën.
Dritan Rexhepi and Aldo Manjishta were not present at the hearing, while Gentian Funiqi, Geraldo Martini, Korado Kështenja, Artan Doçaj and Marin Bleta are being tried in absentia.
The next session is scheduled to take place on June 30, at 9:30 AM.
