A large fire has engulfed a bushland in the village of Zharrëz in Fier this afternoon, putting one of the oil wells in the area at serious risk. The flames, spread rapidly by strong winds, have caused panic among residents, as the proximity to the oil well posed a great danger.
Immediately after the alarm was raised, two fire engines intervened, managing to isolate the source of the fire and prevent it from spreading to the surrounding area. Due to the dangerous nature of the area, the operation was quite delicate.
Meanwhile, police forces have arrived at the scene and are conducting investigations to determine the causes of the fire. There is still no information whether it was an accidental incident or deliberate arson. Fortunately, there are no reports of injuries or material damage other than the burned area of bushes.
