Ali Ahmeti, the president of the Democratic Union for Integration in North Macedonia, has reacted to the sudden death of journalist Artur Zheji.
Ahmeti describes Zheji as a courageous and independent voice in the Albanian media space. He states that 'his loss left a huge void in Albanian journalism and public life'.
"With deep sorrow I received the news of the passing of the renowned journalist and analyst Artur Zheji, at the age of 63. Artur was a courageous and independent voice in the Albanian media space. Although sometimes in public debates and discussions we shared different opinions, but always with mutual respect and appreciation, which is evidence of his integrity and high intellectual culture. His loss leaves a huge void in Albanian journalism and public life. My most sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. May he rest in peace and may the Albanian land rest in peace," the head of the DUI writes.
