The Ministry of Defense announces that firefighting efforts continue in Mallakastër and Finiq. Through an announcement on social media, it is announced that a Canadair aircraft of the Croatian Air Force has intervened to neutralize the flames in Mallakastër.
Meanwhile, in Finiq, two Swedish aircraft and an Air Force helicopter have joined the firefighting service since the morning.
The Ministry announces that thanks to the combined intervention from land and air, homes have been protected and a security perimeter has been created in Dhivër and Janicat.
It is learned that all efforts are now being made to contain the outbreaks and protect homes in the Navaricë - Memoraq and Rumanxë perimeter, and increased vigilance in the Leshnica area.
"In Finiq and Mallakastër, work has been intensified from the ground and air to curb the spread of the fires and protect residential areas. In Finiq, where the intensity of the wind affected the reactivation and spread of the fires during the night, the 120 operational forces on the ground have been joined since the morning by two Swedish aircraft provided by the European Civil Protection Mechanism Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid and an Air Force helicopter.

In Mallakastër, where the situation has improved in recent hours, 25 forces from the Albanian Armed Forces, 25 forces from the MZSH and 24 forces from the municipalities of Mallakastër and Patos are currently operating. A Canadair aircraft of the Croatian Air Force is also currently operating in this area.
Meanwhile, on the heights of Bërzhita, where deliberate arson is suspected, the forces of the Tirana MZSH are on the ground and currently there is no danger to the homes. The situation at the national level remains dynamic while we expect the thermometer to rise in the coming days. We call on residents to follow the instructions of the authorities on the ground. The law will act with maximum force against any arsonist ," the Ministry's announcement states.
