
The Ministry of Health has reacted after the fire that occurred around 05:30 in the new emergency room of the Health Center in Tirana.
According to the ministry, the situation has normalized.
"In the early hours of the morning today, smoke was reported on the -1st floor of the QSUT building. Immediate measures were taken to secure the inpatients and the situation was brought under control in record time and the cause of the smoke is being investigated. The situation is under constant monitoring and the patients are all out of danger, thanks to the commitment of the medical and firefighting personnel. Everything is under control and the situation appears to be calm", the Ministry explains.
It is initially suspected that the fire was caused by an electrical spark.
Fortunately, the medical staff and patients were evacuated in time, without serious incidents. The fire has been extinguished and as a result no one was injured.
"Tirana/Preliminary information. On 11.02.2024, around 05:30, on Dibra Street, it is suspected that as a result of a spark, a fire broke out on floor -1, at the new emergency room. Police services, in cooperation with the fire brigade, immediately evacuated the medical staff and patients. The fire has been extinguished and as a result no one was injured. The investigative group is working to clarify the circumstances of the incident," the police announced a little while ago.
