Tirana Prefect, Afrim Qendro, has stated that the fire in the area of the former Dinamo Factory, at the 5 May market, is massive and is involving a large warehouse where several businesses operate.
11 fire engines, around 60 firefighters, as well as the entire Tirana and Kamza fire department, were deployed to the scene.
Also, forces and auxiliary equipment are arriving from Elbasan, Vora, and the army, while the Municipality's water companies are ensuring the water supply.
According to him, there are clothes and other non-dangerous materials in the warehouses, no one was injured, and the police have set up a security perimeter.
"The fire is continuing, it is massive and will take time to be neutralized," he said, adding that the causes will be determined by experts.
