Pirro Vengu and his three subordinates, involved in the "Kurum" waste smuggling scandal, rose to key state positions, while SPAK remained silent and political responsibility disappeared...
After the discovery of the “Kurum” hazardous waste smuggling scandal in the Port of Durres, the Prosecution and SPAK did not include in the investigation the minister who signed the permit and the port director who allowed the passage without control. Four months later, Prime Minister Edi Rama rewarded Pirro Vengu with the post of Minister of Defense and then with a mandate as an MP, taking with him three key subordinates from the port management. Today, the former managers of the Port of Durres control the administration, tenders and finances of the Ministry of Defense, while responsibility for the waste smuggling remains outside the criminal file, raising serious suspicions of political protection and recycling of scandals at the top of the state.
On October 30, 2024, "Pamphlet", based on evidence, actions, inactions and responsibility for the waste that passed through the Durrës Sea Port, asked the Durrës Prosecutor's Office and SPAK to take under investigation Minister Mirela Kumbaro, who had granted the permit, as well as the Port Director, Pirro Vengu, who allowed their passage without control.
SPAK did not launch an investigation in principle, while in the Durrës Prosecutor's Office's notification of the persons responsible for the smuggling of "Kurum" waste, their names were missing from the list.
Untouched by justice, Mirela Kumbaro is today a member of parliament and Minister of Education, while Pirro Vengu is a member of parliament and Minister of Defense, where they continue their political and administrative activities with the blessing of Edi Rama.
Typical is the case of Pirro Vengu and his subordinates, responsible for allowing the smuggling of hazardous toxic waste.
Four months after the waste smuggling scandal was discovered and the investigation by the Durrës Prosecutor's Office began, Prime Minister Edi Rama appointed Pirro Vengu as Minister of Defense, and on May 11, 2025, he made him a member of parliament through a closed list in the Vlora district.
But Pirro Vengu also took with him to his ministerial staff three of his subordinates, former department directors at the Durrës Sea Port, who, according to the functions they had, together with Pirro Vengu, are legally responsible for the transfer of waste from the company "Sokolaj" sh.pk.
– Pirro Vengu was the Director of the Port of Durres and is currently the Minister of Defense.
– Andrea Shllaku, the son of Pirro Vengu's aunt and former Director of the Operational Division and Supervision of Activity at the Durres Seaport, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Defense.
– Aleks Marku, former Director of the Legal Division and Functioning of Sectors of the Durres Seaport Administration, has been appointed Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense.
– Anisa Hoxha, former Director of the Economic Division and Relations and Control of Commercial Activities at the Durres Seaport, has been appointed Director of the Cabinet of the Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu.
So, former director Pirro Vengu and his three subordinates, former heads of the Durrës Sea Port, currently lead the Ministry of Defense in key positions that control the administration, tenders, assets and finances of this ministry.
Led by Pirro Vengu when he was in charge of the Durrës Sea Port, they created the conditions for cocaine trafficking by Trifon Murataj with the "Bana King" containers, as well as for trafficking by other criminal groups, smuggling of goods, vehicles, fuel, food and medicine.
We recall that the three current leaders of the Ministry of Defense, Minister Pirro Vengu, Deputy Minister Andrea Shllaku and Secretary General Aleks Marku, when they were in charge of the Durrës Sea Port, were also members of the board of the "Alabbar" tower company in Durrës./ Pamphlet

Çfarë detyrime ka patur kompania Kurum për mbetjet.Kush ishte sasia vjetore e mbetjeve, e se ku shkuan ato. Gjatë hetimeve mund të konkludohet që dy skajet e zinxhirit duhet ti kthejnë në lak, e tja varin në qaf kreut të organizatës kriminale. Ndërsa gjithë 'Konçensionaristët' dhe deri te këta aktorët e sotëm, ti nënështrohen hetimit pasuror. Gjithë veprimtaria e Bankers dhe Kurum kanë sjellë pasoja në shëndetin publik dhe dëme kolosale në interesat publike dhe shtetërore.
