The meeting in the council of the Municipality of Himara

At 10:30, the next meeting of the Himara Municipality council started, where, in addition to some items that are on the agenda today, the appointment of one of the two vice-mayors who will lead the Himara municipality until new elections will be discussed.

The two vice-presidents are Blerina Bala and Pervin Gjikuria, who will be elected by the Himara municipality council. The Himara municipality council consists of 21 members, 9 from the SP, 7 from the DP, and 5 other members from small parties.

Initially, the agenda will be discussed at the meeting and then one of the 2 vice-presidents will be appointed.

The situation appears calm, but the presence of many sympathizers of both sides and numerous police forces is noticeable.

Residents demand that the two dissidents of SP, Vangjel Tavo and Blendi Klosi, leave the meeting.

The council will appoint today the temporary mayor until the holding of new elections in Himare after the arrest of the mayor Jorgo Goro under the charge of alienation of properties.

The Socialists have the majority in the municipal council of Himara, and it is learned that Blerina Bala is the main contender to run the municipality until the final resolution of the impasse. In order to move towards early elections in Himare, the Special Appeal will have to give a final decision for Fredi Beleri.

Meanwhile, Jorgo Goro was arrested on March 23. He is accused of alienating property, about 10 thousand hectares.
