SPAK has reacted exclusively to "Pamphlet" regarding the investigations against officials for concealing assets...
The publication of the candidate lists has sparked debates in Albanian politics. Many MPs will remain outside the Parliament, while many others have fought a very strong battle to find a place on the closed list. But why does everyone want to become MPs?
The reason is not only the salary. Of course, they receive a salary many times higher than any Albanian family (3 thousand euros per month). But there are many other elements that are hidden. We have many deputies who have received building permits, have benefited from various favors. It is enough to take a look at the declarations they have made at the HIDAA and there is not a single deputy who has left there with modest wealth. There are many who have entered with a 1 + 1 apartment and have left with villas, several properties, olive groves, fields, luxury cars, etc. Many camouflage them in the name of partners and family members.
To not go too far, it is enough to look at the assets declared by Edi Rama, Sali Berisha, Ilir Meta or Lulzim Basha and we understand very well how much politics enriches you. Let's not forget that only a state official like Alda Klosi was caught with 500 thousand euros in her apartment, imagine the ministers and others.
" Pamphlet " addressed a letter to the Special Prosecutor's Office, requesting official information on whether an investigation has been launched into the concealment of assets for any politician or not. Although late, SPAK in its response indicates that during the past year alone, criminal proceedings have been registered against 15 state officials.
" From SPAK, for the period 01.01.2024 - 31.12.2024, 15 criminal proceedings have been registered for the criminal offense of "Refusal to declare, failure to declare, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants or of any other person who has a legal obligation to declare", provided for by Article 257/a, of the Criminal Code ", SPAK announces.
Although no names are given, the signals are that we are dealing with important personalities. We have several deputies from the DP who are under investigation for concealing assets, such as Asllan Dogjani, Luan Baçi or Flamur Noka. But there are also some from the ranks of the SP and even important names. Now we have to see if SPAK will bring them all to justice, or if things will change along the way. /Pamphlet
