Gentian Myrta is the latest name on the list of officials who have wreaked havoc with public property and funds in Tirana's administrative units. After the scandals uncovered by "Pamfleti" about Besmir Kola in Pezë and Xhavit Çeka in Ndroq, other denunciations shed light on the Vaqarr administrator, who has built a corruption empire, robbing residents' lands and manipulating property documents in collaboration with his brother, Klodian Myrta, director of high voltage at OSHEE Tirana, a name also listed by the State Police.
Gentian Myrta has alienated hundreds of hectares of land in Vaqar, using his position to manipulate ownership documents and favor individuals connected to him. One of the most serious corruption schemes involves the appropriation of public and private property through falsification of documents and collaboration with cadastral officials.
In the 2021 elections, Myrta and his associate, Bledar Goga, a Cadastral employee, were caught manipulating legalization lists to secure votes. Documents show that evidence of this affair was later tampered with at Police Station No. 6, making this one of the most serious cases of institutional abuse in the area.
Also, an audio recording released by the Democratic Party clearly shows how Myrta bargained for property certificates. In the intercepted conversation, he demands amounts ranging from 5,000 to 30,000 euros to manipulate the process of legalizing a property in the Arbane area. Other parts of the audio show how he used notaries to carry out illegal transactions and to guarantee that the properties would pass to his people.
At the center of the scandal is the property on which the ''Xhangolli Hypermarket'' in Vaqar is currently paying rent. This property, worth over 2 million euros, is registered in the name of Gentian Myrta's wife, a classic scheme used by corrupt officials to hide their assets.
How did Myrta come to own such a valuable piece of land? The documents show a chain of shady transactions, with the property passing through several hands before ending up in his wife's name. This pattern has also been used by Besmir Kola and Xhavit Çeka, who also registered stolen properties in the names of their relatives.
