Weapons for Ukraine, agreement reached with NATO; Trump ultimatum to Putin: You

The American president said that "I don't want to say that Putin is a murderer, but he is a tough guy," after saying that he has "deceived" previous US presidents.

US President Donald Trump has confirmed the deal for 'the largest military equipment' for NATO and Ukraine, while emphasizing that the new equipment will be produced for NATO and will be available for further shipment to Ukraine.

"We produce the best equipment, the best missiles, the best of everything, the European nations know that and we reached an agreement today," Trump said, as he hosted NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House.

He went on to say that the European nations know this, and we have made an agreement today, where we will send them weapons, and they will pay for them.

"We, the United States, will not accept any payment, we will not buy it, but we will produce it and they will pay," Trump continued.

The US president was asked how far he was prepared to go to resolve this war, and he said "there are no Americans dying in it."

But he suggests the need to get involved, saying that "having a strong Europe is a very good thing."

Trump says he spoke to "Germany and most of the bigger countries."

"They are really enthusiastic about this, they want this war to end and they are willing to go very far," he says.

Trump said he talks “a lot” with Putin, but added, “I talk to him a lot to get this thing over with and I always hang up the phone and say, ‘Well, that was a nice call,’ and then missiles are dropped on Kiev or some other city. And after that happens three or four times, you say, the conversation doesn’t make sense anymore. My conversations with them are always very nice. And then the missiles go off that night. When I go home, I tell the first lady, I talked to Vladimir today, we had a great conversation. And she says, ‘Oh, really, another city just got hit.’”

The American president said that "I don't want to say that Putin is a murderer, but he is a tough guy," after saying that he has "deceived" previous US presidents.

Trump says Russia is "potentially such a great place to spend so many people on war and money."

He says he hopes Putin will choose a "fair deal," claiming that "he knows what a fair deal is."

The US President was also asked about the EU-US trade agreement, and replied that he is "always willing to talk."

"We're always open to talking. We're open to talking, including with Europe. In fact, they're coming. They'd like to talk," Trump said. The latter warned Putin that he would face very tough tariffs if he doesn't reach a ceasefire agreement with Ukraine within 50 days.

"We will be introducing very tough secondary tariffs of 100% if a ceasefire agreement is not reached within 50 days," Trump said.

Meanwhile, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Ukraine will “buy a really large amount of military equipment” for air defense and missiles to fight against Russia. Rutte urged Putin to take Trump’s warning, which gave him a 50-day deadline to reach a ceasefire, seriously. /Adapted from Pamphlet/
