Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, after participating in the European Political Community summit held in Tirana in May, returned to the Balkans with visits to Podgorica and Belgrade.
During his visit to Belgrade, Stocker stressed that Austria is one of the most reliable supporters of the region's EU integration perspective.
" Your future is in the EU. We are one of the biggest advocates for the Western Balkans to be part of the EU. As you know, Austria is one of the strongest supporters of a credible EU perspective for the Western Balkan countries."
"This region belongs to us not only geographically, but also historically, culturally and above all humanly. At the same time, it is clear that there can be no compromises on the path to membership, for example in the areas of the rule of law, freedom of protest and the protection of human rights," he said.
