A serious accident occurred near the eastern city of Leipzig in Germany, as a result of which 5 people lost their lives and several others were injured.
Police said at least five people were killed in a crash involving an intercity bus near the German city of Leipzig on Wednesday. Multiple rescue helicopters and ambulances were seen in the area and the A9 motorway, which connects Berlin and Munich, was closed in both directions.
"The exact circumstances of the accident are not yet known," the police said, adding that they were working with emergency services to determine the cause of the incident.
About 53 passengers and two drivers were on board the bus, which was traveling from Berlin to Zurich.
