Hamas, in exchange for some of the hostages captured in Israel, has requested an immediate ceasefire between the parties, according to the British media BBC .
It is reported that, however, Israel has so far not agreed to this offer of the militants, while the internationally mediated negotiations for the release of the hostages held in Gaza continue.
The holding of more than 200 hostages by Hamas militants in various areas in Gaza has created difficulties for attacks by the Israelis, who are reportedly preparing a ground offensive after the end of the bombing of the Gaza Strip.
