The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, after a meeting with Egyptian President Fatah el-Sisi in Cairo today, said that the path to the creation of a Palestinian state is the best way to stabilize the Middle East.
According to Blinken, the creation of a Palestinian state would isolate Iran and its allies, who, according to him, cause unrest in the region.
" If we go down that path, it's the best possible way to isolate and marginalize Iran and its allies who are causing so much trouble — for us and almost every other country in the region ," Blinken told reporters after a meeting with Egyptian President Fatah el-Sisi in Cairo, reports Reuters.
Blinken's visit to Cairo came a day after Egypt and Jordan warned that Israel's military action, which has killed more than 23,000 Palestinians, must not lead to the displacement of more than two million people from the Gaza Strip or the occupation of area from Israel.
