After the rape of the leader of the Serbian opposition, Nikola Sandulovic, his family members said that he was partially paralyzed by the attack.
They further stated that Sandulovic was taken from his home on January 3, after he apologized for the crimes committed by Serbs against ethnic Albanians during the Kosovo war and visited the Jashari family cemetery in Prekaz.

Sandulovic was heavily criticized in state media after he reposted a video from last year in which he visited the grave of Adem Jashari, who was killed by Serbian police in 1998 along with 57 members of his family during the war in Kosovo.
