Spanish personnel have been expelled from a military base in Israel, due to the country's continued criticism of its military operations.
The announcement was made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said he had given instructions to expel Spanish representatives due to their anti-Israel stances.
"Spain has slandered our heroes, the soldiers of the IDF, the soldiers of the most moral army in the world. Therefore, I have given instructions to expel the representatives of Spain from the coordination center in Kiryat Gat, as Spain has repeatedly chosen to stand against Israel ," Netanyahu said.
He added that Israel will not allow any country to wage a political war against us without paying an immediate price for it.
Recall that Spain, one of the most vocal critics of US-Israeli attacks in the Middle East, has closed its airspace to any military aircraft involved in the war and has labeled the conflict as reckless and illegal.
Confirming the expulsion, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said Spain had acted against Israel by all possible means.
The military center, located in central Israel, was formed to oversee the ceasefire agreed in Gaza last October. Spain had a permanent presence at the headquarters.
