Most Israelis do not believe the US and Israel won the war against Iran, according to a series of polls released on Thursday, as much of the country opposes the new ceasefire.
A poll by Israel's Channel 13 found that 33 percent of the country believes the US and Israel won the war, while almost as many, 28 percent, believe Iran won. A Channel 12 poll showed that 30 percent believe the US and Israel won, while a Kan 11 poll found that only 25 percent think the US and Israel emerged victorious.
All three polls found that more than half of the country opposes the US-led ceasefire and supports continuing the war against Iran. The Channel 13 poll found that 37 percent of Israelis believe the country's strategic position has improved, while about the same percentage, 34 percent, think it has worsened.
The polls are a stark warning for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, especially in an election year, as he has repeatedly tried to portray an image of victory over Iran and vowed to "change the face of the Middle East."
