A British businessman, 33, has been found dead in his luxury villa in Pattaya, Thailand. Thai authorities have arrested his 20-year-old wife, also a British citizen, as the main suspect in the murder.
According to police, the young woman stated that her husband took his own life, but investigators believe that evidence collected at the scene does not support this version and are investigating the case as a murder.
The 33-year-old's body was discovered on Thursday morning after a friend in England became concerned about his lack of contact. He alerted another friend of the victim, who went to the villa in the Bang Lamung area of Pattaya and found the apartment in disarray. The victim was found dead in the shower and police were then notified.

According to authorities, the 33-year-old had multiple stab wounds, mainly to the back, while experts estimate that he had died about six hours before he was found.
In her testimony, the 20-year-old said that her husband had been using cannabis frequently recently and consuming large amounts of painkillers, insisting that he had committed suicide.
However, investigators report that they have found evidence that contradicts this claim. A hunting knife about 50 centimeters long was seized in the kitchen, which is suspected to have been carefully washed. The woman also had cuts on her fingers, while signs of a struggle were found in the apartment.
According to police, the victim may have been initially attacked in another room and then moved to the bathroom.
Residents in the area said the couple had moved into the villa just two weeks ago and that loud arguments were often heard. A neighbor said that the night before the incident, he had heard the couple's dogs barking incessantly, while at around 2:00 a.m. a courier had gone to deliver pet food, but no one had answered the door.
Authorities have seized security camera footage to determine precisely the events leading up to the businessman's death. The head of the investigation stated that the evidence so far does not support the suicide scenario, emphasizing that the wounds on the back and the fact that the knife had been cleaned strengthen suspicions of murder.
