The US State Department stated that President Joe Biden has ruled out sending US troops to fight in Ukraine, in response to French President Emmanuel Macron who said that sending Western troops to Ukraine "cannot be ruled out".
"Of course, every country is free to speak for its own interest, but apart from the president making it clear that the US will not send troops to fight in Ukraine, the NATO secretary general has ruled out any NATO troops to fight in Ukraine," said State Department spokesman Matthew Miller at a press conference.
He also called on Congress to approve additional funding for aid to Ukraine.
"We think the path to victory for Ukraine now is in the United States House of Representatives," Miller said.
