Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's son has come under fire for continuing his life in Miami, while 360,000 Israeli reservists, many of whom live abroad, have been called up to fight Hamas and defend their homeland.
According to the Daily Mail, Yair Netanyahu has been in Florida since last April, while hundreds of Israelis abroad gave up everything to return and do their duty.
Yair chose to stay in Miami despite the difficulties and terrible moments that his country is experiencing. This fact has revolted some Israeli soldiers.
"He's enjoying his life in Miami Beach while I'm on the front line," a volunteer soldier serving on the northern front told The Times.
"We leave our jobs, our families, our children, to protect our people and our country, and those who are responsible for this situation do not", he said.
“Our brothers, our fathers, our sons, they all go to the front line, but Yair is not here. This does not help at all to have confidence in the country's leadership".
Another soldier stationed on the Gaza border also expressed his displeasure over the absence of the Israeli prime minister's son.
"I came back from the USA where there is work, my life, my family. There was no way I could stay there and abandon my country, my people, at this critical moment.
Where is the prime minister's son? Why is it not in Israel?', says the soldier.
According to him, all Israelis should be united and present at this moment, and of course Netanyahu's son is not excluded. According to the Daily Mail, during his mandatory military service, Yair Netanyahu had primarily served as a spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces.
Military service is compulsory for most Israelis when they turn 18. Men serve for 32 months and women for 24.
