Gunfire has rocked the Piazza Duomo in Monreale in Palermo, Sicily, leaving two dead and three injured.
The dead are two people, 25 years old and 23 years old. They died immediately after being transported to the hospital. The injured are 26 years old, 33 and 16 years old, one of whom is in serious condition.
The shooting took place in front of at least a hundred witnesses. According to witnesses, it all started after an argument in front of a pizzeria.
A clash occurred in the square, then a man armed with a pistol started shooting, Italian media wrote, referring to witnesses.
The Carabinieri are investigating the circumstances of the incident and have examined video from security cameras.
