Counter-terrorism police in the South East said the woman was arrested yesterday under Section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000. An investigation had been launched into a speech given by a woman at the protest in Brighton on Sunday. Superintendent Petra Lazar of Sussex Police said the conflict was "generating public concern and affecting communities globally and locally".
" We recognize that there is potential for tensions to escalate and we are engaging and working with communities and partners to ensure that people feel safe and protected ," she said.
Meanwhile, due to the fear of terrorist attacks in north London, two Jewish schools were closed yesterday. The same thing happened in the Netherlands, where some schools announced they would be closed from Friday until an unspecified deadline.
