A serious incident occurred today in Germany, where the mayor of Herdecke was stabbed 13 times.
Iris Stalzer, the newly elected mayor of Herdecke from the Social Democrats (SPD), was found seriously injured by her son, Bild reported. She reportedly suffered multiple stab wounds to her stomach and back and is in critical condition.
According to reports, the 57-year-old woman told her son that several men attacked her on the street and she was stabbed in the stomach and back.
Police have launched a search operation to identify and arrest the suspects. It remains unclear whether the crime is politically motivated.
