Four people have been killed and seven others injured in a knife attack in Illinois in the US. The victims, aged between 15 and 63, were attacked with a knife by a 22-year-old man who is currently being held in police custody.
The event that happened yesterday afternoon shocked all the residents of the area.
The seven injured have been taken to the hospital where they are receiving medical treatment for serious injuries caused as a result of stab wounds.
"We have multiple scenes at this point, and we're still working to notify the families," Redd, Rockford's police chief, said at a news conference Wednesday.
One of the injured, a young woman, managed to escape from the 22-year-old aggressor but received multiple wounds on her body and face and is currently intubated.
There is still no clear motive as to what prompted the young man to commit the terrible massacre, but it is suspected so far that the 22-year-old is the sole author of the attack.
